Michael Byrd, President
Michael has spent his entire professional career in the background investigation industry. Prior to joining ScreeningONE, Michael Byrd spent 8 years in the background and fraud investigation industry, both in sales and marketing leadership positions. Most recently, Michael held the title of Vice President of Sales & Marketing within First Advantage Corporation. Michael brings his experience as a successful leader with core competencies in strategy development, negotiation, sales structure, client relationship management and new business development to drive growth within ScreeningONE.

An established industry expert, Michael has spoken nationally on the subject of background screening and has been a featured speaker at conventions for the National Association of Motor Vehicle Dealer Boards (www.namvbc.org) and the Employer's Group (www.employersgroup.com). He is a results-focused leader with a proven track record of generating new business and building long term customer relationships.

Michael graduated from Vanderbilt University, where he played baseball and earned his degree in Human & Organizational Development. After graduating from Vanderbilt, Michael was drafted to the Cleveland Indians where he played for several years. Michael is also a graduate of the University of Chicago's strategic sales management program. Michael is a licensed private investigator in the state of Tennessee and is certified in the Fair Credit Reporting Act through the Consumer Data Industry Association.

Michael resides in Lithia, Florida with his wife Lisa and sons Carson, Griffin and Gavin.

Jeffrey T. Briggs, General Counsel
Jeffrey T. Briggs is co-founder and General Counsel of ScreeningONE. Jeffrey is recognized as an industry expert regarding corporate law and compliance. He received his B.A. from UCLA. and his J.D. from Southwestern University.

Prior to co-founding ScreeningONE, Jeffrey was an active business attorney. He handled a diverse range of trial and transactional matters, including successful litigation of an array of complex matters in both federal and state court. Jeffrey’s series of successes in the courtroom involved several Fortune 100 & 500 companies, and he’s had the good fortune of working with top firms across the country. Between university and law school, Jeffrey worked as a federal legislation analyst on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C.

Jeffrey’s role as legal counsel to established and emerging businesses and industry clients gives him a unique perspective in his current role as General Councel at ScreeningONE. His strategic vision, analytical skills, and abilities have contributed to the significant and sustained growth of the company.

Matthew Briggs, Chief Executive Officer
Matthew Briggs is co-founder and CEO of ScreeningONE. Prior to co-founding ScreeningONE, Matthew was co-founder of 700Credit, a National Credit Reporting Agency. In 2007, that company became the largest privately-held Credit Reporting Agency in the automotive industry.

Matthew is a frequent presenter on credit reporting and compliance issues. He has more than 10 years experience in the credit reporting and consumer information industry and his speaking appearances have included numerous national and statewide conferences. Matthew is a certified FCRA professional.

Matthew graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a degree in Social Science. Matthew brings a successful balance of management, creative and technical experience to his position at ScreeningONE. His unique mix of expertise has contributed to ScreeningONE’s continued success within an evolving and rapidly changing marketplace. Under his leadership, ScreeningONE has expanded into a multi-million dollar corporation that is changing the way businesses around the country hire employees, screen tenants and make decisions.

Matthew lives in Santa Barbara, California with his wife, Alissa and sons, Jackson and Nolan and daughter, Ryan.
